Sense Bridge

How do I write a reply in another language?

Draft a polite reply in Dutch to ask for a different appointment date, then check what it says in English.

Understand it in your language. Take action in another.

Step by step

  1. Write down in English what you want to say, including the original appointment and the date you would prefer.
  2. Ask Sense Bridge for a short, polite message in the recipient’s language and an English explanation of the draft.
  3. Read both versions before sending. Check the names, dates and times, and make sure the message asks for a change without implying it has already been agreed.

Fictional example in Dutch

Goedendag, ik kan niet naar mijn afspraak op dinsdag 17 november komen. Zou het mogelijk zijn om de afspraak te verplaatsen naar donderdag 19 november? Alvast bedankt.

What it means in English

Hello, I cannot attend my appointment on Tuesday 17 November. Would it be possible to move it to Thursday 19 November? Thank you in advance. Thursday is a proposed date. Wait for confirmation before treating the appointment as changed.
